First Post

Honestly, I've wanted to start blogging for a while. But due to my laptop catching a cold, it was kind of put off... For three years. Now my laptop has recovered thanks to my wonderful brother-in-law and I have the chance to blog, write and get myself to document my life. I love to write. Lets just say I have tried to write a few books but have lacked the confidence and education to do so. That leads to me writing blog posts. You poor souls who are reading this, I feel for you. You get to read my rantings, musings and probably my terrible humor.

So I know that there are so so many fashion blogs and hair blogs. Food blogs. Beauty blogs. ETC. This is not going to be one of those. Sure I will have those things in my blog but if I'm being honest, this blog is about my day to day life. Real, raw and awesome. Let's just say some days I don't get out of my sweats. Or workout clothes. I don't even do my hair. I'm a stay at home mom and looking like I'm unacceptable for public society is fine by me. Ok, well maybe not so much. I've had this desire to blog to get me to try new things and to get out of my comfort zone. Hopefully y'all are with me.

A little history cap for all you wonderful people. I grew up in wonderful Utah. And yes I am a Mormon and proud of it. When I was ten years old, my parents uprooted me from Salt Lake City and down to the desert of St. George. I was a little apprehensive about moving to a smaller town from the hustle and bustle of a large city and making new friends. It sucked, to say the least. But I quickly made friends and LOVED that smaller city. Throughout my school life, I danced. And danced. And danced some more. I lived and breathed dancing. Plus, I made some wonderful fantastic friends who I still call my sister's to this day. When I had just turned the wonderfully tender age of 16, I met my husband. He was as much of a hunk back then as he is now. I was smitten and somehow he was smitten with me. We went on a couple of dates, and the rest is history. We dated for two years before he left to Southern Mexico to serve an LDS mission for two whole years. Let me repeat that. Two. Whole. Years. Without him. It was a miserable time in my existence. I kept myself busy during that time. I went to UVU with my best friend and from there I went from Ballet Major to undecided to Nursing. After 8 months in the hustle and bustle of a big city, I was crying for my red rock and small town. I raced back to Southern Utah and pursued my Nursing Degree at DSC (at the time it was still a college!). I soon accepted a job at Intermountain Healthcare as a CNA at the Women's Health Center on the Postpartum floor. Guys. It was a wonderful job. I got so baby hungry. It made me realize what I wanted most in life. And soon my boyfriend came back from his mission. We were engaged within 2 weeks of him returning home and married 2 months later... and pregnant with our first baby within 4 months. There was so much growth within that first year of our marriage. I became a mother at 21 years old and my sweet daughter Yasmynn was born June 17, 2012. I've never looked back and have never been happier. My husband and I have been married for 4 years now and are expecting number 2. He is so excited to be getting a little boy. He wants a hunting buddy. Poor kid is going to get hunting and fishing gear from his dad for Christmas and birthdays for the rest of his life. We recently moved from Southern Utah to Las Vegas for my hubby's job and it has been difficult adjusting to a big city. But my neighborhood, ward and area are fantastic. I honestly couldn't ask for a better place to be. The Lord really does have his hand in everything and I am consistently grateful for his grace and glory every day of my life.

I know that this is probably a boring post but come on! I got to get a little background here. Thankfully today is Friday which means weekend fun. Can't wait to be with my little family and enjoy relaxing. Maybe by the pool...
